An innovation center

UALG TEC aims to create a technological centre including the installation of a Science and Technology Park, directed to foster the acceleration of academic spin-offs and other innovative SME’s, promoting applied joint research and development projects between private companies and the University of Algarve.


Future UALG TEC CAMPUS facilities – Penha Campus

UAlg Science and Technology Park is focused in creating a multi-sectorial ecosystem, aggregating research, knowledge transfer, and innovation, towards the implementation of two complementary units, namely:

  1. Clinical Simulation Center, an technology valuation and transfer center, based in Health and Wellbeing.
  2. UALG TEC CAMPUS, an accelerator for technological an innovative companies, focused in Information, Communication Technologies and Electronics.

UALG TEC CAMPUS OBJETIVES

Attracting talent: welcome and inspire the attraction of national (Portuguese diaspora) and international (digital nomads) talents.

Attracting International companies: Attract key players, with R&D strategy (or offices) to the regional ecosystem, increasing the existing critical mass and fostering spill over effects.

Optimizing the network of Incubators: standardize the network of existing and future incubators (specialization and joint coordination), presenting a coordinated service.

Foster new vertical associations: promoting the emergence of vertical business associations, based on the demand for innovation and knowledge transfer.

Accelerate companies: Take accelerating territories to help pre-seed, seed, and start-up companies and prepare them for Business Angels or Venture Capital operations.
